To think that anyone who doesn’t eat properly is probably terrible in bed?

I’ve noticed a pattern - people who are overly restrictive with food, constantly on some extreme diet, or just don’t seem to enjoy eating also seem to lack passion in other areas… including the bedroom. It’s like they approach everything with the same restraint and lack of indulgence.

Obviously, there are exceptions but has anyone else noticed this? Or am I completely off base?

Lol, I can't say I've noticed that, no.

My best friend of 46 years has never particularly enjoyed food, she just sees it as fuel.

I have no idea what she's like in bed but she's very passionate about many things.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 25/08/2025 20:32

So someone who eats lots is good in bed? A hearty appetite equals a good in bed partner?

I feel like there is one person in your life who has inspired this post 👀😄

I think that what makes someone good in bed, imo, is manliness. So a man who enjoyed a steak and good wine or whiskey would suit me

But a man who overindulged on beer and chips wouldn't be good in bed imo

That said, everyone is different

GordonRamsey · 25/08/2025 20:32

Yep. Your right. That's why soup spoons and fish knives are shaped the way they are.

Titsywoo · 25/08/2025 20:33

Well my husband has ARFID and is fantastic in bed so not in my experience! 😁

Womanofcustard · 25/08/2025 20:35

Interesting. I thought this would be about junk foods - if you read Suoersize Me, he loses his libido after a diet of junk food.
ime vegan/vegetarians are good in bed!
But people who are obsessed with their diet are boring!

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 25/08/2025 20:35

I can see this. People who enjoy life - of which food is a big thing - tend to be better and more enjoyable and attentive lovers.

Being picky about food is to be picky about life. And love.

Haha maybe there was one particular person who inspired this 👀

But yes, I agree, it’s not just about quantity. It’s more the approach to pleasure and enjoyment. Someone who savours food, indulges well, enjoys life? That energy often translates. A man who respects his appetite (without being a slave to it) usually knows what he’s doing 😄

So, all of the appetites or none of the appetites?
What about greedy fuckers who don't share food,? Would they be generous in bed?
A bit too playing to the stereotypes.

DelilahMy · 25/08/2025 20:42

I eat anything and everything and am great in bed so I think it’s true.

PractisingMyTelekenipsis · 25/08/2025 20:43

I've got one ex who was weird around food. His idea of cooking for me was a Rustler burger, microwaved for less time than it said, shared between us. He was also shit in bed. I'm not sure the 2 were related though, he was an abusive POS.

HeadNorth · 25/08/2025 20:45

I'm not usually that bothered about food but I've always loved a good shag. I think unhealthy fat blimps are probably rubbish in bed, but I've never tried one to confirm Grin.

Haha greedy food hoarders definitely raise a red flag. I’m not saying it’s a hard and fast rule, more like a pattern I’ve noticed. It’s less about “eats a lot = good in bed” and more about how someone relates to pleasure, presence, and generosity. The same people who are rigid or disconnected around food often bring that same energy into intimacy. But hey, always open to being proven wrong.

What is an ARFID?

LimbOnTheBranchBranchOnTheTreeTheTreeInTheBog · 25/08/2025 20:48

I'm a very fussy eater, I haven't been so fussy with the men I've shagged unfortunately.

I don't really care if I'm good in bed or not, as long as I get mine I'm happy 🤣

Laiste · 25/08/2025 21:06

Used to be said 'good on the dance floor - good in the sack'

good at the dinner table hasnt got the same ring to it somehow ...

I 100% agree with you. In my experience, people who are picky about food don’t seem to enjoy sex much, whereas men who are sensual about food are sensual in bed - this possibly explains my crush on Jay Rayner…..

100% agree though - a great example is the guy Billy on Love is Blind UK

He is very restrictive in his diet and doesn't seem like he let's himself enjoy food

I bet he's shite in bed 🙄🤭

ohyesido · 26/08/2025 17:35

I don’t eat much but I’m a demon in the sack. I disagree with your hypothesis

Comedycook · 26/08/2025 17:36

No idea...a man who was fussy or restrictive with food wouldn't get past a first date with me.

Darragon · 26/08/2025 17:36

YABVU.

DustyMaiden · 26/08/2025 17:39

I indulged I’m sex, believing it wouldn’t make me fat, I was wrong,

MyLimeGuide · 26/08/2025 17:43

Lol!! Hilarious! I kind of get your thinking, I find men who are into seeds, protein, constant working out no carbs etc and being skinny highly unnatraactive so I might be with you on this one!

Hard agree, he has driving ban and anger issues written all over him, sorry 😬
