was walking past a charity shop today with my little girl. A man was attempting to donate a small bookcase round the back where they take the larger donations. He had parked on the pavement on double yellows. They didn’t want to accept it for some reason and he got annoyed and just left it on the street. The lady shouted that it would be fly tipping and to remove it or he would get a fine from the council. He got back in his car and started reversing on the pavement closer to where the book case was. He was seconds from reversing into me and DD. As I turned round I shouted woah as he was so close and he slammed brakes on and angrily went to the bookcase to put back in his car. It was scary how close he was and he shouldn’t have been on the pavement on the first place. The lady from the charity shop saw and was telling her manager about what he’d done and that he nearly a lady with a little girl .. would you report ?

No I wouldn’t waste my time or that of the police.

ToKittyornottoKitty · 23/08/2025 21:24

No. You can’t report people for being moody and they won’t care about the pavement.

SummerEve · 23/08/2025 21:26

Have you been stewing on this for the last few hours? It’s really isn’t worth thinking about!

Bambamhoohoo · 23/08/2025 21:27

No, it’s just one of those things in life!

SaltAirAndTheRust · 23/08/2025 21:28

For what?

PInkyStarfish · 23/08/2025 21:32

Jeeze!

FridayFeelingmidweek · 23/08/2025 21:42

Ideally yes as this sort of nutter might properly lose it one day. However, knowing the current state of the police, there's no point.

If only angry men behaving like this would be a crime. One day.

PamIsAVolleyballChamp · 23/08/2025 21:42

Honestly am psychotic from sleep deprivation but where's the crime? Being a twat?

Bedtelly · 23/08/2025 21:43

Don't be ridiculous

Freegrass · 23/08/2025 21:45

Sounds like a nasty encounter but I wouldn’t bother. Unfortunately, being a dick isn’t yet a crime, and literally nothing will be done about it.

Typicalwave · 23/08/2025 21:46

The police won’t even sniff at this

Oh come on!

No

Ha12 · 23/08/2025 22:24

Well if I had not turned around on instinct and shouted woah then he definitely would have hit us. I’m sure he even knew we was on the pavement as he saw us pass moments before

He didn’t hit you though, and that’s the important factor here.

So have you got his car reg? Still can’t see what there is to report here

Things nearly happening is a shock for you but for the police it just means black and white it didn’t happen.

Franjipanl8r · 23/08/2025 22:47

What crime has he committed?

toomuchfaff · 24/08/2025 09:18

Have you been watching Minority Report? That's not real....

Nothing happened.

JockTamsonsBairns · 24/08/2025 09:22

You can't report things that might have happened but didn't.

WhenYouSayNothingAtAll · 24/08/2025 09:29

Do you have his car reg number? (Not that I think there’s anything to report).
