Brother and buying toys

My brother is constantly buying toys for my two children. He has autism and his listening skills have always been terrible, it’s why he can’t hold a job down. I’ve been on MN long enough to know posters will reply with scripts of things to say. I don’t need them, I’ve told him not to because we’re drowning in toys as it is and because he never buys age appropriate things and so they get upset when they break. Or brings them over at the worst possible times (blowing up balloons just before bedtime.)

So things came to a head tonight; he bought more toys and I got annoyed and he’s all upset. But as I’ve said to him, what on earth can you do if you say to someone don’t do that and they insist on doing it?

Just love him. He gets it wrong for the best reason.
The kids will get it as they get older
