to think that if this isn't racism, then what the hell is?

According to the comments I've seen from Tommy Robinson's supporters, this isn't racism - he's just doing his best to protect white children and raise awareness! The article mentions he still hasn't deleted the video, despite the threats and abuse the family are facing. What will it actually take for his blind followers to wake up and smell the coffee?

Family in fear after Tommy Robinson shares video of black man with white granddaughters

That’s the thing. Even if it was just “save the children” nonsense he knows he is wrong so why is it still up?

It isn't. Maybe you should check your facts before posting?

IceColdChardonayPls · 21/08/2025 16:25

Ive just heard about this.

I have just watched the clip and I do find it surprising because the guy and his brother do not look like a typical grandfather, they look far too young.

But I would have assumed some sort of uncle relationship and nothing more. There is nothing inappropriate or suggesting of anything sinister. I find that all quite a leap and I agree that that leap probably wouldn’t have been made if the men had been white.

TooBigForMyBoots · 21/08/2025 16:38

No probably about it.

This is racism, pure and simple!

It disappeared only fairly recently.

Last night.

Butchyrestingface · 21/08/2025 16:52

Also seriously doubt TR would have given a shit had it been a white man out with two black kids.

Piggywaspushed · 21/08/2025 16:53

I thought today ?

It’s funny, that’s like saying “they’re gay! Pure and simple!”. Nobody cares. The term is defunct.

ReplacementBusService · 20/08/2025 20:53

Why would they bother pretending they aren't racist? At least just own it. Absolute bellends.

That's just par for the course. Racists are all loud and brave about being outspoken, right up until they get caught by the law or recorded online, then they're all, "that's not what I meant, I was on medication/drunk/under stress, everyone who knows me knows I'm not racist really, I've been quoted out of context, it's so unfair!!"

🙄🙄🙄 cowardly knob-ends

BelperLawnmower · 21/08/2025 17:09

It's Robinson/Yaxley-Lennon posting something about race - of course it's racist.

AnotherDayAnotherDog · 21/08/2025 17:55

I don’t know anyone who believes or calls themselves racist.

FusionChefGeoff
I’m really confused it feels like there’s a chunk of this story missing - it’s a video of a man playing with his grandchildren in the park

Just to point out that the man is aged only 34 (35 next month) - it's a bit odd to call him a grandfather even if he is married to the girls' grandmother (she is 18 years older than him). He must have been in his twenties when the girls were born, although of course most onlookers would assume he was their stepfather/mother's partner rather than a random stranger.

Please tell me you’re not trying to justify this?

While I agree some racists dont care, the word is not defunct. We need it to call out the racist scourge in the UK right now.

You'd have to work extreeeeeemely hard to show this isn't flat out racism

You really don't. You don't have to provide any evidence of anything you say. Ignore anyone who wants actual evidence. Fling a few well-worn phrases like "two-tier" around, comment that you aren't a racist you are just saving women and girls, mention "young men of army age", throw in a few "small boats", mix well and repeat over and over. If that fails, try swearing and personal abuse.

Apparently the tweet is down now, but the damage is done.

@Corfumanchu The Guardian has no paywall!

Well said!

Whatever gave you that idea? Did you actually read my post?

'most onlookers would assume he was their stepfather/mother's partner rather than a random stranger'

I do think it's a bit daft to refer to the man as a grandfather though. The eldest girl must be at least six or seven, so (step) 'Grandad' was 28 when his eldest granddaughter was born? Plus he's only been married to the grandmother for five years. (This is a separate observation - nothing to do with Tommy Robinson).

BIWI · 21/08/2025 20:19

Of course I read your post Hmm

Which bit of 'most onlookers [i.e.me] would assume he was their stepfather/mother's partner rather than a random stranger' did you not understand?

Stop defending the idiotic post from BIWI.

Piggywaspushed · 21/08/2025 21:33

I'm not defending . I'm curious about your intervention which appears to be suggesting it's not unreasonable to assume the man isn't a grandfather and wondered whether you were implying that confusion over identity was reasonable, and therefore one mighg gave suspicions. Have you read the captions on the film as posted?

I don't understand the objective of your first post.
