According to the comments I've seen from Tommy Robinson's supporters, this isn't racism - he's just doing his best to protect white children and raise awareness! The article mentions he still hasn't deleted the video, despite the threats and abuse the family are facing. What will it actually take for his blind followers to wake up and smell the coffee?

I’m really confused it feels like there’s a chunk of this story missing - it’s a video of a man playing with his grandchildren in the park. I can’t even work out what angle Tommy was going for?!?!!! Because he’d black and they’re white they can’t be related?? But even if it’s that, the video doesn’t show any inappropriate behaviour so it’s a fucking gigantic leap from that to paedophile?! It’s such an innocuous video how on earth did it escalate so quickly?!?

I’m normally quite critical of the word ‘racism’ being bandied about but, making a false assumption about a man simply because he is black is the absolute definition of racism.

There is an epidemic of just cruel posts on Facebook. Someone posted on my local page about “confirmed ISIS asylum seekers looking to behead our children soon” - this information allegedly came from Pakistani community that can speak Afghanistani….. I mean it’s laughable that people actually believe this. Afghanistani is not even a language and these come from ‘blue tick’ accounts so people think they’re real. It’s astonishing really.

Just to point out that the man is aged only 34 (35 next month) - it's a bit odd to call him a grandfather even if he is married to the girls' grandmother (she is 18 years older than him). He must have been in his twenties when the girls were born, although of course most onlookers would assume he was their stepfather/mother's partner rather than a random stranger.

They obviously assumed they were just random black men with unrelated white girls. Very very wrong to circulate this on sm!!
