To think I should have been told by now if I have the job?

I had my first interview 2 weeks ago, 2nd interview a week ago . They still had other 2nd interviews after me and said I'd hear by Thursday. Thursday evening I get an email saying there is a delay in the recruitment process and they will get back to me this week?

This said this week and it’s only Tuesday so there’s clearly time yet. Always feels like time is going so slowly though when waiting for that call! I hope they get back to you soon OP

Very frustrating and of course they should have let you know but they did update you and say you’d hear this week so I would try and relax a little bit!

At my work it’d be no indication one way or the other. If we have to delay scheduled interviews because of sickness or other unforeseen events then we will extend the deadline to make a decision.

I would gently chase on Monday lunchtime next week if you haven't heard.

They haven't made the decision yet and clearly stated they'd contact you this week. So wait till the end of the week. And don't panic!

I’d wait until tomorrow lunch time and then follow up, but if you can’t wait follow up now? I don’t think it would be impolite at this stage

Keep applying elsewhere, get some more irons in the fire

You can follow up tomorrow if you want, but I wouldn't worry that it has anything to do with you. There are millions of reasons why the process would be delayed.
Number 1: HR. We had to wait 2 weeks to get an offer to a candidate because the entire HR team went on holiday at the same time...
