AIBU- worried about rain on wedding day

We are getting married in Spain on 27th with our family ( my fiance is Spanish ) the weather this morning was showing sunshine purely and this afternoon 55% chance of rain. We wanted to get married outside and the inside option isn’t as nice and completely defeats the object of getting married abroad.

I feel really sad about it. I know it’s 10 days away and could change back as easily as it changed this morning… but I feel a bit deflated tbh

How exactly do you think it worked"? (Rather than just being a coincidence?) Curious as to what anyone thinks the connection is between burying a sausage and the weather.

I have no idea. It’s all very lighthearted! But it works!

So if I buried a sausage in my garden every single day then it would never rain? Don't think so.

Noooo. Just wedding days 😀

If the Spanish family is religious, get them to put out a statue of the Child of Prague the night before (it worked on my wedding day in Ireland 25 yrs ago this week. Scattered showers on the day but none scattered on us!) Best of luck and try not to stress.

With kindness, it’s 10 days away. Stop obsessing over something you cannot change.

How does the sausage know what day it is?

jhmlwos · 17/08/2025 20:56

As a farmers wife, NEVER EVER look at or concern yourself with a weather forecast TEN DAYS AWAY.

dear me they can be wrong in the day. Delete the app and look at it a week today if you must.

It’s like raaaaiiin on your wedding day…
A friend of mine obsessed about the rain forecast for her wedding. It tipped it down on the day so became a self fulfilling prophecy. Every year on her anniversary it’s been beautiful sunshine.

ForeveraBluebird · 18/08/2025 15:22

I hope it doesn’t rain and the sun shines for you Op. Try not to wish for everything to be perfect though, it rarely is. The things that don’t go to plan often become your favourite memory. Have a lovely wedding day .

If we didn’t want an external wedding, we would’ve booked England and got our Spanish family over to here.. not vice versa. When you have a wedding, you have a vision and a location dream… your sarcastic comments don’t take away from the fact that it’s ok to have a ‘perfect wedding’ vision and our wedding we wanted it to be outside.

Yeah but you chose the location knowing rain was a possibility. Talk about all eggs in one basket…

I wouldn’t worry unless the venue is on the plain

Missing the point entirely but all my life i thought it was 'mainly on the PLANE' which never made sense to me 🤦
Learn something new every day.
Im sure your wedding will be wonderful whatever the weather, don't get hung up on stuff you can't control 😉

Don't worry about something you can't change 🤷🏻‍♀️
It is absolutely pointless.
