Not really an AIBU but posting for traffic.

Currently in an airbnb near disneyland paris.

Kids out cold after walking 15km in a day.

Im sharing a double with my youngest. Eldest on sofa bed in lounge.

Got up to use and loo and came back to two of these in the bed (photos attached may take time to load) Also have a new bite on my back.

Is it bedbugs? Can't think of anything else. Bit of a loss about what to do in the middle of the night 5 hours drive from home though!

Have taken sheets off bed and cant see any more but really don't want to leave my family infested and take them home!

Yes very likely to be. Have you checked the seams of the mattress? That’s where they often hide.
Make sure your luggage is kept well away from the bed and don’t bring your luggage into your house when you get back home.

yes, they look like them.

Is there a bath you can put your suitcases in ?

Thanks everyone. I literally packed up and left when you confirmed my darkest fears. Bagged up any clothes which had been out in the apartment along with the kids catalogue of cuddle toys. Loaded sleeping kids into the car and set off driving home through the night. Would have checked into a hotel but it was past midnight so couldn't book a room for yesterday night. Absolutely gutted.

Helpfully google suggests leaving affected materials in bin bags in a hot car can kill them. Its scheduled to be 38 by my French house today so have left the bin bags in the car and will decide what else to do once I've slept.

Thanks for all your help and advice.

So sorry OP. We've had to deal with bedbugs at home and is a nightmare so you are doing right to be super cautious. When you get the clothes out (leaving them in black bags in the car is a great idea), id wash them, tumble dry then steam iron all over. Cuddly toys is either bin them if they aren't too precious or bag them up and put them in the freezer for as long as possible.

Thank you. Unfortunately teddy wise its all the cant live without precious ones they took 😬😬

Im really annoyed because we'd had such a lovely day (disneyland) and I felt awful bundling them into the car in the middle of the night. Kids slept the whole way snd dont seem too traumatised (until I tell them the teddies are hostages in bin bags 🤣)

Thanks so much for the advice

That doesn’t look like a bedbug to me. I’ve had them and experienced in the beasts

Good luck with it all. You’ve identified it before coming home which is main thing!
