It bleeps really loudly when it goes up or down the stairs. Like a lorry reversing alarm!

I've googled this to death and can't find any info on how to disable this racket. It's NOT a battery alarm or proximity alarm, it's a 'i'm moving up or down' alarm.

Please help us it's driving us mad x

Thank you 😊 I found that thread while googling actually.

But It's not a charging warning it starts as it begins going up the stairs and stops when it stops. Up and down. It's been doing it since it was installed (a few years ago now) but we have a baby in the house now and it's waking the baby and we're all even more sick of it !

It's meant to do that (at least my aunts one does) to let people know its on its way up or down. When it stops beeping the rider knows they've reached the top or bottom if the stairs and can get off the seat... It also beeps when it's called by the person who wants to use it until it reaches them and once they've used it beeps until it goes to its Docking position half way up the stairs. I hate it both for the noise and because it's always in the way, making the stairs really narrow if you are carrying anything up and down.... And its sooooooo slow!!

Yes! And i cannot find anything in the Stanah literature about disabling the noise.

Its ridiculous.
There's a bit on it somewhere which bleeps and i'm sure that bit could be hit with a blunt object switched off?!?

If you can find the bit that's emitting noise can you wrap duct tape around it to dull the sound?
