If you found yourself in such a situation you could no longer keep your ddog what measures would to take to rehome it?
I assume nobody on here is such an absolute cunt they would crate it and leave it in the middle of a hay field...
I have never felt such hatred and anger towards a human being. Not even my exh...
How are some people even wired to do that?
How is our race so disturbed that that was a viable option?
If the world has good people in it I wish I could meet 1...to try and remove the news article I just read...
What measure are there? Now that microchipping is a legal requirement surely this is the pitfall?

Terrible. Often I feel we don't deserve our beautiful world (that we are working very hard to destroy). Most people have no love for nature and living things. It also reflects on their dismal treatment of other human beings. Odds are the cunt who did this is also cruel to kids. Chills me to the bone.

wizzywig · 17/08/2025 06:09

@StandFirm I have no idea why your post reminded me of the opposite. Didn't wayne couzens phone the vet for his dogs problems after killing sarah Everard?.
I haven't clicked the link as i can't bear reading things like that, but I hope they find the person who did that

blubberball · 17/08/2025 06:18

That's disgusting. At the very least let the animal loose to give it half a chance. Even better, abandon it in a crate at an animal rescue, or the side of the road where it has a chance of being found. Even better, take it to a rescue properly. Even better, don't ever get an animal in the first place if you can't keep it for life

SomewhatDissatisfied · 17/08/2025 06:19

Just needless. Purposely doing it so that it wouldn't be found is so calculated. Some people are so detached from any feeling. At least leave it somewhere that the poor animal would have been discovered. Once I took my dog to the park really early and found two grown adult dogs tied to a bench with a note and a bag of toys. To have had them all those years then just dump them when there are so many options, I just couldn't understand. That was in north London and although they had been there all night it was easy to alert the dog warden and local vet who came and collected them. I never found out what happened to them but at least they were abandoned somewhere they were found quickly. In a field in the middle nowhere like this this just unforgivable. They clearly intended for it not to be found easily.

Pricelessadvice · 17/08/2025 06:55

Animal cruelty cases make me feel a rage like no other.
There is no excuse nowadays. There are animal charities, FB groups, vets… all sorts of places that you can take an animal and explain the situation and they will take them in and help find them a new home.

There is NO excuse. I hope the people responsible have a horrible ending. And I really mean that. They are the lowest scum that you can get.

MuffinsAreJustCakesAtBreakfast · 17/08/2025 07:03

A lot of Animal Cruelty and Abuse goes unreported and undetected. Boils my blood. I haven't read that article because it will haunt me for weeks, but if it was in this heatwave....awful.

People who are cruel to animals should have their names published on an Animal Cruelty register along with the crime, so that those around them can know who they are. They should be ostracised and shunned by society just as child abusers are. Both are defenceless creatures dependent on the human adult's kindness.

I agree there is something fucked up in these people's heads and they should be on the fringes of civilisation, as they're not good enough to join the rest of us.

caramac04 · 17/08/2025 07:12

There is absolutely nothing that could persuade me to abandon any animal in such a cruel way. The suffering of that poor dog is unimaginable.
The cruel bastard that did this deserves the birch.

Assuming your all vegans then

You think butchered meat is more cruel than letting an animal starve and dehydrate in a crate?
Ok.

AwkwardPaws27 · 17/08/2025 08:29

When I was a veterinary receptionist we had animals dumped by or just inside the entrance on a number of occasions. I always thought at least it was somewhere they would be found quickly; I cannot understand the thinking behind doing something like this 😥

Needanadultgapyear · 17/08/2025 08:37

As a Vet you see all of humanity in your consult room - some of the most appalling individuals ever and equally some of the most generous and kind people.
I have accidental acquired many cats over the years who have come from awful situations. I have reported abuse and been involved in successful prosecutions, one notably that helped a person escape abuse.
I am regularly disappointed by people and am no longer surprised by what they can do.

Campingisnexttogodliness · 17/08/2025 08:38

An abattoir animal died quicker than that ddog. And actually am vegetarian and don't drink dairy milk. I'm not perfect but not a sadistic twat either... A woman in my area starved her ddog to death citing divorce stress in court... I walked away from her in a club when she approached my group of friends... A few spoke to her to keep the peace. The fucking peace? Christ on a bike I was fuming. Told her to walk away. She had dc and they all watched that poor ddog. Neither an owner or dm should she have been. Ever.

I'm vegetarian (ex vegan, though still practice mostly) but that has ^nothing* to do with this kind of animal cruelty.

poor dog, how unbelievably cruel that cunt is that did that

DiordreBarlow · 17/08/2025 09:07

This is so awful. What is wrong with humans?

There are many people out there waiting for a dog to love. Someone would have taken this dog and given it a lovely life. Poor thing.

It is possible to not be vegan but to care very much about the meat and dairy products you eat, how the animals live and how they die. I put a huge amount of effort into supporting ethical farmers. If we have excellent farmers looking after animals well and eat less meat and dairy then those animals will live well.

If we stop eating meat and dairy then those animals will not live at all.

There are high standards for rearing and slaughtering animals for food in this country. Whether you like it or not that has no bearing on being deliberately cruel to an animal like this.

Glitchymn1 · 17/08/2025 16:31

The 7% voting YABU are part of the problem. Poor dog.

We are vile though- generally.

Give up. Don't be so ridiculous.

Ihateboris · 17/08/2025 16:47

Fucking cruel twat. This has made me cry and hold my beautiful labradors close. I feel guilty when I accidentally tread on their paws. How,just HOW can anyone be so cruel?

Robin67 · 17/08/2025 16:53

The infants found in bags in canals make me feel the rage you describe over a dog. I don't like this story, but I can't get as upset over this as I do for the cruelty that some people use against other people, especially children.
