Ive been hit and been in hospital. My cheekbone was smashed..I've been in touch with women aid.
In 2023 I had a zycoma. I wrote a thread called "Dp being a twat"
I was so embarrassed about coming back as I stayed with him

Over Xmas he broke my arm. That's when women's aid got involved.
I want to now report him.
Is it too late?

I dont think it should be. If you want ror do this, then I think you should.

If you ring women's aid they should be able to help.

Well done for getting this far.

Thanks. I think they got passed off with me as I couldn't and wouldn't go to the police. They washed their hands with me basically.

Have you been in hospital with your cheekbone injury this week? If you have, take photos of your injuries. Even if you don't report it immediately youll have a record of it

You can absolutely report domestic abuse retrospectively

Thats good that you've got them.

A lot of victims of domestic abuse take a long time to report it. Don't be put off because there's been a time lapse

Hi.

My ex assaulted me in October 2024 and I reported it in December 2024. I didn't go to hospital and had no evidence. Disappointingly, the police didn't do anything, even going to talk to him, then called me to say that the crime was battery which had a 6 month whatever its called in which to charge him and they hadn't so nothing could be done.

In your case, it might be a different crime without a time limit.

In both our cases, any reports made will come up on Claires law checks, protecting other women, even if the bastard doesn't actually get in trouble.

Are you still with him?

Theresealindseyillbetyou · 16/08/2025 03:18

I hope you get out of the relationship he's an extremely dangerous individual but you know that as you've suffered at his hands.

Hopefully others that have experienced similar can offer advice.
I hope there's no children involved as DV leaves its mark even decades later.
I know this from growing up in a DV household.

so you are choosing to stay with this guy just hoping there are no kids involved as that would be worse you are an adult you make your own choices but if kids are in the mix they get no such choices

Yachties · 16/08/2025 05:31

Report it. Ask for help. Please please get support . This won’t get any better, you deserve to be free from this.

youalright · 16/08/2025 05:59

There isn't a time limit on reporting to the police it can be done anytime
