Nobody is closing anyone down. We are simply pointing out how the law works in the UK. A lot of people on this thread seem to need multiple repetitions of the facts.

Oh, and swearing is allowed on Mumsnet. As long as it isn't directly at someone, which this wasn't. If that disturbs you, other forums are available.

And as long as people keep posting lies, misconceptions and nonsense, as they are Fred to do, we will keep correcting those lies, misconceptions and nonsense. As we are free to do.

It might be. I would imagine a few of ForOpalZebra's will be too.

I'm sure you can bring it up in Site Stuff.

Oh come on, I have posted loads too. Give me some credit!

As long as people keep misrepresenting how the justice system works here, I'll keep posting.

If you want to start a thread on what you think is wrong with it and how you would like it changed, please do. That could be really interesting.

The pattern is clear - you can predict which threads the boogeyman will show up on.

What are you trying to say? That we are a Mumsnet Secret Society who conspire to post on political threads? Oh, I wish. I would get such a cool disguise people would faint in pure envy.

Oh no - Dead Poets' society, it certainly isn't.

Bless you, you really don't need to refer to yourself in that way.

The current MO seems to be to whine, whinge, complain, bellyache (sometimes at the same time, but never in time) and then as soon as anyone asks for suggestions as to practical, achievable, quantifiable improvements to be met with an repeat of what's wrong.

Again.

Even on this relatively quiet and well debated thread there are one or two posters who have been seduced into pointing at something, saying "BAD THING !" and when asked what can be done about it, they say "BAD THING !!" again. Only with an extra exclamation mark. It's worse on the more contentious theads.

Can we start a secret society? Sounds fun.

I'm sure there's a poster with that name. Marvellous choice.

There's already one going - in case anybody missed it, it's on Site Stuff. I would say it makes excellent reading but it's all so predictable.

Well, I wouldn't post about it on MN if that counts?

You re right there is a small number of very angry posters, who believe we have a 2 Tier justice system...... one even called Jane a "thick cnut"

Can you believe such language?

I too find them tiresome, maybe we can start a self help group?

Oh good. Can you quote one of those posters who has so clearly articulated why the sentences of the two cases are representative of two tier justice. I seem to have missed them. Just one will do. I would really Iike to see a coherent argument that supports this position as I haven't come across one yet.
