to expect not to get caught between Virgin and the bank

For some reason Virgin don't like my bank, it says on the website they don't recommend people use it! My bank knows this and will tell you the best way to get around them so you can set up DD which Virgin try to stop.

Anyway, last Tuesday I called my bank and asked them to pay Virgin off. But today I find they've cut me off (aparantly emails and the phone go before the net does so I didn't realise until I needed to call a taxi to go out). Called my bank and was told they sent it straight away and it's down on the system that it reached them on Friday! My account manager said she had actually asked her manager about my Virgin bill earlier in the week and was told Virgin aren't cashing their payments at the moment!

Now I'm on the phone to Virgin arguing that they've not recieved my money and that they don't have a problem with any bank (read the website to them) it takes ten days for a payment to come though from them, I'm going round and round!

Blimey - which bank is it - it shouldn't make a blind bit of difference. Now I'm with Lloyds and lots of banks hate them because our bank account is one digit shorter than most. So you have to add a zero at the start but that's as far as it's difficult!

How annoying for you!

It's MoneyWay. Virgin don't accept they're a bank so they're difficult about you using them. Why it should be any of their business as long as they're getting paid!

Supervisor said to me to get back in touch with MoneyWay and ask them to chase it up, I said "How? In case you haven't noticed my phone is barred!"

My friend just asked if you are staff? He works in the IT dept and said he thinks it's only staff that has that problem.

Get your bank to do an Indemnity Claim - they'll get the DD back. Then take it up with Virgin again...

Virgin are crap sometimes though; they took a DD from me 3 days early resulting in bank charges for me and all sorts and refused to put it right!

It wasn't a proper DD as I haven't been able to set it up, they have a four day window to set it up if your account is clear at that time. It was something like a DD (she did tell me what it's called but I didn't hear it properly) that takes 3 days to get there. Asked my friend from Lloyds-TSB and he has no idea what it is. He did say they can do an audit to force Virgin to tell them where the money has gone.

I'm going to get MoneyWay to pay them off for the next bill as soon as they have enough money so I can get a DD set up ASAP, I'll ring daily if I have to!
