To wonder if there’s such a thing as a truly generous employer?

We often hear about “generous employers” offering great benefits but when you dig deeper, it’s usually more about keeping employees happy enough to stick around. So are there any employers out there who genuinely go above and beyond in terms of generosity or is it all just a way to maximise productivity and keep people from leaving?

My Dd has got a job where her employer pays 20% pension contributions (for no contribution from her) and will match employee contributions to the tune of a further 13%. It is so insanely generous I can’t understand it. She is coining in the pension at the age of 27 (earning almost 6 figures so it is a significant sum of money, plus she gets higher rate tax relief) and I suspect can’t afford ever to leave!

When my husband's father died my boss immediately gave me the week off work to support him. I would never have expected that for a relative of a relative. It meant a huge amount to us both and I've never forgotten it.

My 22 year old ds told me he is set to get a pay rise this year and next year. He earns what I earned in my 30’s with a family to support and a house & bills to pay for!
His employer has been incredibly supportive and generous.

My job is full of benefits, I work extremely hard and I am rewarded way and above any other job I have ever had. Im rewarded financially, perks are great but thoughtful treats get posted to me at significant times of the year too. I feel exceedingly fortunate to work for my employer.
