To ask if anyone knows anything about asbestos sheets under roof tiles? And cost to remove?

We have asbestos sheets under the tiles on our roof. Does anyone know if these sheets are under all the tiles or just the tiles at the edge where the roof finishes?

Does anyone know the cost to remove or replace it? Average cost as I know it depends on the size!

Do you mean soffits? I think they can often be asbestos and are about 20cm wide but don’t go all the way under the tiles.

Why do they need removing?

Why do you want to remove it? Generally you are best leaving it as it is rather than disturbing it. Asbestos is everywhere and as long as you aren't drilling into it, cutting it up etc it is nothing to be too concerned about.

Usually it would just be around 20 to 25 cm at the edge but you would need to get the roof checked to confirm this.

The edges of the roof are most exposed so asbestos soffits were used for the durability. Asbestos cement is extremely hard-wearing so could withstand extremes in weather.
