When did the phrase Fair Enough stop and just the word Fair, become a thing???

Its beyond annoying.

I prefer someone just saying OK if they neither agree or disagree.

I use both regularly.

Aye, that's fair.

'To be fair' is annoying.

The thing about ‘fair enough’ that makes it worse even than those other awful things, such as the (incorrect) use of ‘literally’ or people who say ‘pacific’ when not talking about an ocean, is that it has somehow shuffled uninvited and most certainly unwanted into my speech. I don’t mean to say it, I don’t want to say it, and yet, like some poor child calling their teacher ‘mummy’, out it pops and often in its shorter (more hideous) variants too. Help!

I guess when language fashions come round you have three choices - use it, moan about it, or just let it go by. Moaning seems a waste of brain space. There'll be another word or phrase along soon enough.

'To be fair' is annoying.

I think 'to be fair' has become a bit of a verbal tic/filler expression for people aged around 20-35. It drives me up the wall. I am 46.

I think i actually say fair point or fair do's more then the others but its usually whatever shoots out my mouth I'm often as surprised as anyone else.

'To be fair' is annoying.

I feel like to be fair has a completely different meaning
