I love natural light, most people complain that I have the lights off until really late at night, but not here

I live on the top floor of a lowriser (three storey block) and there is a tree that is taller than my block and the leaves start just below my living room window. So my window is totally blocked out by leaves. In the winter it's obviusly just branches to light is a bit better but the wind catches it and makes them knock on my window. In bad winds Tink gets very scared.

I rang my HA over a year ago the answer I had was (no lie) "keep the windows shut and they won't come in" WHAT??? After Tink got scared I called them again, they came to see it and said they have to get permission from the HA they lease this site from as they can only cut 10% back without it. This is going to mean this winter (if the other HA can get around to sorting out a tree conservationist and survery etc, which is quite unlikely on this site) and my leccie bill going up, again! It's the same the other side of the building, but that's the bedrooms and the sun comes in quite high so it actually gets really light and hot in them.

I'm going to ask them to come and look at the tree in it's full glory so they believe me.

Awww Riven, there's always something, eh? Wish it was as simple as getting the neighbour to cut it. Bah politics!
