Yellowstone quality way behind 1883 and 1923 ? What happened ?

1883 has the glorious Elsa, 1923 has Helen mirren and Harrison and Spencer * Alex.

There doesn't seem to be a single decent character in Yellowstone and the first series was farical with the constant shooting from Kaycee and accidents .

Loved 1883 and 1923 but we just can't seem to get into Yellowstone, we've tried twice but it's just dire.

I wish they had never made the modern day yellowstone series at all but just more of the story from the 1800s and 1900s.

i watched Yellowstone first and had to drag myself past the first few episodes because every character is so unlikeable and just awful. Even Kaycee’s girlfriend who is supposed to be the virtuous one is smug and annoying. So I was so pleasantly surprised when I watched 1883. I thought it was amazing and the actress playing Elsa blew my mind ( knew her as a kids’ tv actress from a show my teenager watches). Then I tried 1923 and haven’t made it through as all the characters seem awful again.

I watched Yellowstone first and loved it! Beth Dutton is a fab character, and I loved the whole story. Then watched 1883 and 1923. Have you tried Landman? Also written by Taylor Sheridan

Me too, I don’t want to give away spoilers but honestly sometimes when people give you some good advice you should really listen to them. 1883 was really good though.

Oh no I loved 1923 if only for Spencer Dutton !!
And I thought the Helen mirren characters were cosy

Yellowstone for...well, all the characters are quite unpleasant. But I've been watching anyway. God knows why it wone a Golden Globe. It's more like a soap opera.

I agree! 1883 was wonderful and I liked some of the characters in 1923, though thought the sex / sex abuse scenes were completely gratuitous. Can’t really get into Yellowstone… there just doesn’t seem to be much of a gripping storyline and we’re about 6 episodes in. V disappointing.

One episode was pure farce ending with a state trooper being speared by a barbered wire fence and two Chinese tourists dropping off a ridge pursued by a bear. Shortly after a man was burned alive then shot by kaycee...and on .
And Beth's hate for Jaime ! It's panto villain.

I watched Yellowstone first and loved it. Loved 1883 more and the end had me in tears. I really enjoyed 1923 too.

I got more of a sense of destiny and and more depth from the first two. This one has a mad cruella de ville complete with smoking burn scenw

I adore 1883 but thought 1923 got a bit "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" between Spencer and Alexandra.........🙄

I have just finished 1883 and absolutely loved it. Had to fast forward a few scenes in the last episode though as I found it too sad! Elsa was such a great character. I was just so mesmerised by the horse riding tbh :)
