A newspaper reported on Saturday that L'Oreal has decided to partner with an adult content performer who posts videos of sex acts on Only Fans to market their makeup range (Urban Decay) which is targeted at the teen and young person market.
If a woman chooses to make money through Only Fans then that is for her. However, in my opinion it is grossly in appropriate of L'Oreal to partner with this type of 'performer', particularly as this product range is targeted at young women and girls.
Laughably, if you look at the L'Oreal website they bemoan the rate of violence against women and girls, & the company mentions 1 in 3 women in the world suffer from sort of physical or sexual violence. Yet, they seemed to have missed the very well established body of evidence linking the increased availability of pornographic images with persistent levels of violence against women and girls.
L'Oreal claims one of their corporate objectives is to support the well-being of women.
Is it just me, or can anyone else see this decision is a massive disconnect or as some may put it, L'Oreal spouting about womens empowerment is simply corporate hot air.
