Going to a restaurant to order food then hardly eat any of it - why?

I just don't get this. People come into a restaurant and order food. Its one of those restaurants you pay in advance. Food arrives, they just eat about a quarter of the dish - maximum. Then all leave with everyone in the group leaving loads of food left.

Why do people do this? If not hungry, don't eat. If pushing for time, don't eat. It's disgusting that people leave that amount of food. A bloody waste

Literally none of your business what people order or eat? I myself have an eating disorder and can sometimes really want to eat but the guilt takes over and I can’t or my anxiety kicks in. How bloody rude of you to even make a thread about someone else’s eating habits that don’t affect you in the slightest.

For me it's portion size, I'm on ADHD meds and have low appetite. If I could choose a portion size I would, but usually they're piled high. For context, if it's McDonalds then a cheeseburger and small fries fills me up for the rest of the day

Whatever the reasons, wasting food is awful. Plenty of people do not have enough to eat, the least you can do is not waste any yourself.

So if you’re over faced with food in a restaurant, you should force it down?

I really dislike it when restaurants serve enormous portions.

Take a plastic box or ask for one. At least that shows you appreciate the food.
