To think that the reported average salary in UK is skewed by so many people who are paid minimum wage but then take tens of thousands in dividends

Is this correct? Or is their total income counted when working out median or average salaries? Is this also a good way to not have to ever pay back student loans for example? Many people earning above average PAYE salaries don't seem to live above average lifestyles

I don't think the numbers are so high as to skew national averages.

These are almost certainly adjusted to full time hours

I know a few people with this set up. Take home bang on tax free allowance then pay themselves dividends 100k plus each for a partnership of civil engineers. I don’t think it’d be captured under employment income.

I know a lot of small businesses in a similar set up. Including paying adult children. Small businesses, including trades etc etc. There are many of them, I do think it means what we are told is not a true representation

You do have to pay student loan repayments on dividend income.
