Is it irrational to be terrified of snails but not slugs? Sitting in a friends garden last night when a snail appeared at the side f another guests chair. I don’t even know how she spotted it, I guess she had a sixth sense (as I did with spiders).
Poor woman absolutely freaked, I just calmly took it to a shady bush. We have a roundabout nearby with amazing snail sculptures on it and she has to go round it with her head between her knees (her partner is driving, thank god).
She is Belgian but her family live in Burgandy which is the snail capital of France and she hates visiting.
I was fascinated that she didn’t mind slugs - she implied it was the horns that did it.
YABU - teeny horns are quite scary.
YANBU - slugs are disgusting and worse than snails.
