Posted here massively for traffic.

I'm not a gin drinker but want to purchase a lovely bottle of gin to say thankyou to someone who has helped me a lot and is a bit of a gin connoisseur and likes the random flavours

Happy to go up to £40

Gin lovers....hit me!

As a Suffolk lady, my go to gin is 100% Adnams copper house, adnams.co.uk/collections/gin/products/70cl-adnams-copper-house-gin-40

Suffolk Bird here too (born in Liverpool hence the Bird!) I'm not a fan of Copperhouse....but absolutely love Melford Gin by Nethergate Breweries nethergate.co.uk/shop/melfords-gin/

I'm also not a gin drinker, but my husband loves this brand

This is my local gin, how lovely to see it recommended! It's very nice, OP, plus less likely that your friend already has it than some of the suggestions from major retailers.
My other suggestion is Lind and Lime. It's a beautiful bottle and a delicious citrus forward gin.

Laveritas · 08/08/2025 20:43

Black Shuck 😋

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 08/08/2025 20:46

I like Adnams as well, but the First Rate gin over the Copper House. It is much harder to find, though. (And higher abv!).

tobee · 08/08/2025 20:51

Another vote for Silent Pool

123ZYX · 08/08/2025 20:52

As nice as Roku is, it can be bought from sainsburys so I would consider it special.

My favorite is Torbay

Jc2001 · 08/08/2025 20:53

Probably as many recommendations as people posting on the thread but for me Bathtub Gin is lovely and has a cool looking bottle. Well within your budget as well.

bloodredfeaturewall · 08/08/2025 20:57

can't go wrong bombay saphire & a nice cordial & sparkling water as mixer
<ducks>

Malfy gin is lovely, beautiful clean fruity taste and it’s on offer in a few supermarkets lately - grapefruit (my favourite) or blood orange.

Also Edinburgh Rhubarb & Ginger gin is amazing, but make sure to get the proper gin and not the liqueur. The liqueur is okay but more sugary.

A quality mixer is essential - fever tree is perfect

Ginlovingmumof4 · 08/08/2025 21:19

Definitely Silent Pool.

MardyBra · 08/08/2025 21:32

I would avoid flavoured gin unless you know they love it. My heart sinks a bit when I find some one has forked out £££s on a flavoured gin for me.

my favs areTarquins Cornish gin, comes in a lovely blue bottle and No3 London Dry Gin, both around your £40 budget. I’m also partial to Sipsmiths which comes in a bit cheaper around 30 quid.

Ignore the poster that said Bombay sapphire. Wink

MathiasBroucek · 08/08/2025 21:33

For a classic "dry London" gin (not flavoured) I'd suggest Cotswold or The Botanist (Scottish)

SlipperyLizard · 08/08/2025 19:00

My favourite flavoured gin is Tanqueray Sevilla (orange flavour) my favourite plain gin is Lakes Gin, it is fantastic.

Second both of these

Icanttakethisanymore · 08/08/2025 21:36

Tanqueray 10! The absolute best imo.

mrschocolatte · 08/08/2025 21:39

The Botanist or Silent Pool. Both very good.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 08/08/2025 21:44

Harris gin or Dyfi gin would be my top picks

mamagogo1 · 08/08/2025 21:46

6 o’clock gin is good

Genevieva · 08/08/2025 21:47

There are a lot of small independent gin distilleries. See if there is one local to you, or somewhere meaningful to you.

Scottishskifun · 08/08/2025 21:50

Eenoo gin very smooth light with citrus and honey undertone.
Mostly it's only available online unless your in NE Scotland!

Aparecium · 08/08/2025 21:54

This Lakes Distillery gin is so delicious that I usually have some sips neat before I add the tonic water. If they have any connection to Cumbria or the Lake District it would be even more special for them.

(I also highly recommend the distillery tour!)

rollerblind · 08/08/2025 21:56

Silent pool- lovely bottle too

ThatWordDoesNotMeanWhatYouThinkItMeans · 08/08/2025 22:31

Drumshanbo Irish Gunpowder Gin - they also do a Sardinian Citrus version
Silent Pool
Tanqueray No. 10
Lakes

hepsitemiz · 08/08/2025 22:38

Another vote for Tanqueray Ten, it really is very good!

Letshavetea1 · 08/08/2025 22:38
