Guidanship

Really random subject but wondering if anyone knows!!we went to buy a house and just as we were completing the lady were buying off was told to get a doctors report..turn out she has dementia so now it has to be handed to her daughter to get guidanship.We have been waiting 9 months for it to go to court has anyone gone through this process and how long roughly from now do you think it will take ? I know mums net is probably not the place for this but you never know ha,thanks.

The last I heard it's taking at least 12 months to get guardianship. My brother should have sorted out POA for his wife who now has dementia, but didn't and has decided not to apply for guardianship as it takes so long. He's just going to 'go with the flow' and let SS and medics make any necessary decisions. Not what I would do but it's his decision.
