Posting here for traffic I am hoping a doctor or other/ might see it. I have had a hospital acquired bacterial infection in my gut for several weeks and feel I am not being listened to. I took amoxicillin for 5 days which cleared it up and now it is back. I have an in- date course of doxycycline will this work for an infection like this ? Thanks for any info Google is rubbish sometimes

The amoxicillin obviously didn't clear it up otherwise it wouldn't have returned.

Doxycycline may or may not work but unless you've submitted a sample it's guess work.

Sent before finished- it's not first line treatment for it so really you just need to speak to your gp.

And this is why we have wide spread antiobiotic resistance.
