Just they really.

Can't decide if it's total lack of consideration or people have genuinely forgotten how to use a phone. So many people on speaker with it an inch away from their head instead of putting it to their ear. Drives me mad!!

It's the way it echos, when you're talking to someone who has it on.

OMG I brought this up to My mum the other day after sitting in the same carriage as a bloke blasting Nigerian news updates. Like just buy some bloody headphones

It seems fashionable now not to bother with headphones. You can't even shop, in peace, without hearing phone conversations. Pure laziness.

I know libraries aren't the quiet places they used to be but it amazes me the number of people who think it's reasonable to conduct a conversation with their phone on speaker in there.

Extremely annoying for me and I'm only sat doing the Library jigsaw so it must be very distracting for those trying to work and study.

Yes, eating out too - we've just bank from holiday and every meal included spending 15 minutes battling against somebody's phonecall on speaker

Don't even get me started on kids tablets without headphones!

I'd go outside to take a call rather than using my phone in a library/cafe etc - but I usually hold the phone a bit away from my face on speakerphone because my phone handset is too small to have it against both my ear and my mouth at the same time.
In The Old Days the landline receiver was long enough to reach both and also curved so it didn't touch my face in between, but my smartphone is half the length and has a touchscreen that my cheek or ear can set off.

I become irrationally irritated by people on speaker phone in the supermarket. They linger over the chilled cabinets, so no one else can get in there, wander up and down, too busy talking to actually complete the task of shopping.

If it’s a work call, go outside or ask them to call back. If it’s asking about which product to buy, sort it out quickly and get off the phone.

Inconsiderate tossers the lot of them, take it off speaker or use headphones
