AIBU to expect compensation for not buying a car on these finance schemes?

People are getting refunded because they didn't read the finance they agreed to on cars. I did read it, and decided to purchase a lesser car as a result. AIBU to expected to get compensation for not having a car as nice as I could have due to these dodgy deals?

They’re not. The ruling went against it.

I was going to buy bit coin when it was cheap but decided against it as I was worried it was going to go down further

I should get compensation

Er, no it didn't. You have to read beyond headlines. The FCA are pulling a redress scheme together right now, the criteria for a refund of commission is just going to be higher than many expected.

No op, they're not. Those refunded will be because they were treated unfairly due to undisclosed commission arrangements. So if you decided to 'purchase a lesser car' because you read something in the finance agreement that WAS disclosed, it would never have been considered an unfair agreement anyway. However, no congratulatory back slaps for you I'm afraid.

Are you sure you understand what the compensation is for?

It’s that undisclosed commission amounts were given to salespeople that sold higher interest loans without customers being aware, not that people weren’t reading the finance agreements. The whole point is that it was undisclosed; it was not in the finance agreements.

You’ve completely misunderstood the situation OP. The whole point is that it wasn’t in the finance agreement… the commission amounts resulting in the higher interest rates weren’t disclosed, hence it being unfair. Do you want compensation for not comprehending the issue?
