Is it just me though who thinks that there is quite a lot of bitchiness and nastiness that goes on here on a fairly regular basis?

It's quite rare to find anyone in real distress getting bitched at. Posters who love a good row tend to not go and start one on the bereavement threads, for instance: I like to keep my sharp-stick moments for AIBU, Chat and In The News. And would only go and do the equivalent of mooning at someone on a sad thread if I knew the poster well enough to think that they would appreciate some black humour (some people find it comforting).
Mostly, if you get it in the neck you are either an independent thinker who should be proud of the rage you can trigger in idiot mundanes, or you are being a silly twat and should get over yourself.

stopit I think some people are just more blunt than others. I, however, tend to sugar coat every post I write . The best thing is to stay away from the more controversial threads. Its the same as real life, some people don't care who they upset, others are a bit more diplomatic.
