To not understand why I find this giggling so fucking annoying?

Am I a sociopath?
my 11 year old gets fits of hysterical high pitched giggling. It goes on for ages and never ends well, usually because I eventually find it so annoying that I say ok enough now. Which makes me feel like a joyless witch because all the child is doing is laughing. But it’s so aggravating!!! Is it just me?

Without knowing the laugh and why she's laughing, you could be anywhere between an awful, joyless witch who's crushing her poor DC's spirit and having the patience of an absolute saint for not having taped her mouth shut.

No that is annoying. Mine did an Australian accent at that age which was also extremely annoying and she was told to knock it off in no uncertain terms. But I’m not a particularly gentle parent.

Is she aware she's doing it?

Yeah like most things kids do, it’s charming until it’s not. I wouldn’t call you a joyless witch. I’d call you normal.

Usually when you have an irrationally strong negative reaction (well done for recognizing that its irrational) to other people's behavior it can be linked back to childhood - usually to how you were treated for the same behavior but in this case perhaps could be a peer thing too. How did adults treat giggling children when you were a child op? Any bullying from other kids that included laughing at/about you?

There's a teenager at a hobby I do, she's about 14, she gets super giggly (I think nervous) and I find it very annoying
