I just can't understand the mentality. Someone is Jewish so they attack them for being Jewish and blame them for what Israel are doing.

People get attacked for being LGBT - so what - just because someone is LGBT does not mean you should attack them and beat them up.

People get attacked because of their skin colour.

What kind of person decides to attack a complete stranger just because of the group they belong to?

I honestly can't understand that mentality.

It must have been so scary for the father and his son. There is absolutely no justification for attacking anyone because of the group they belong to.

Jewish father attacked by mob at Italian service station

Man said chants began when a cashier shouted ‘Free Palestine’ after noticing he and his son were wearing kippahs

Im not Jewish but this is horrific and happening everywhere.

AcquadiP · 29/07/2025 20:09

Disgusting behaviour.

MauriceTheMussel · 29/07/2025 20:14

Even Vanessa Feltz got this treatment when she ventured near a Free Palestine march.

It’s happening constantly - you’re Jewish and near a demonstration minding your own beeswax? Abuse and hounding. A joke.

I don’t take a side in this conflict, but to blame and attack someone just because they’re Jewish? Yeah, high ground or whatever someone’s claiming, out the window.

footiego · 29/07/2025 20:16

It's awful particularly as so many seem to think Jewish people should just expect it.

Dangermoo · 29/07/2025 20:18

Well done @cakeorwine for highlighting this. Bigotry is evil, no matter who it's aimed at.

CopperWhite · 29/07/2025 20:18

People do it because there is so much hate and anger and division in the world. It has always existed, but at a time in humanity where it should be getting better, it just isn’t.

SpaceRaccoon · 29/07/2025 20:20

The poll results are immediately depressing. Nearly 30% of people appear to think it's fine that they were attacked.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 29/07/2025 20:25

Poor man.
Some people are just angry aggressive fools who think they are above the law.
The punishment should match the crime, only with more force, before the prison sentence starts.

PandoraSocks · 29/07/2025 20:28

YANBU. It is frightening.

What is also frightening is that people are minimising these sort of attacks on Jewish people. I am sorry to say that some of those doing the minimising are on the left. As a leftie myself I cannot understand this and find it deeply, deeply disturbing.
