Perimenopause/ Menopause

Does every woman get symptoms of peri or menopause? I think I’m approaching menopause, as my periods have started being erratic, and much shorter (sometimes just 2 days long when they always used to be 5-7 days).

Only other symptoms are brain fog (although that started when I first had Covid in March 2020), and hot flushes. Sometimes I sweat the bed. Am I therefore approaching peri? So confusing. Im 45.

I’m 45 and on HRT. Not everyone gets symptoms though but you sound like you do. I have the same erratic periods and rage.

I'm 51. My periods are completely regular. I can predict to the day when I will come on.

However, I have brain fog which is hard. I forget what I'm talking about half way through a sentence. I can be talking about someone I know socially or through work and refer to them by name, they enter the room and I completely forget what their name is. Proper wracking my brain stuff and I just can't get it.

For the last 18 months, I've had a pick and mix of premenstrual symptoms from utter despair and suicidal ideation, to migraines to d&v and rarely the same one two months in a row.

Weak and painful ankle, knee and elbow joints but taking a collagen supplement has competely eradicated that.

No HRT because I went to the GP and was told it couldn't be menopause related because my periods were regular.

I had similar symptoms to yours at 45. I made an appointment with my GP and she prescribed HRT (oestrogen gel and progesterone). It improved things almost immediately.
