Ladies with big feet

SparklyDeer · 28/07/2025 18:16

Yet again, I am browsing for trainers and I am having to look at mens trainers. Size 9 so not huge by todays standards but not that many companies make shoes for women with big feet.
The trans person in my office (who always leaves the toilet seat up in the ladies loos btw - very feminine!) has huge feet but manages to find nice ladies shoes that fit them.
Is there magical trans shoe shops? Are women allowed to shop there too?
My hope is that since so many men want to be women us women with big feet might soon have loads of choice for our big clown feet.
Not really AIBU just not sure where else to post.
It just pisses me off that women with big feet aren't deemed dainty enough to deserve nice shoes in nice colours. I want bright pink trainers in size 9 that are designed for womens bodies. Not mens trainers....

Do you think it's slightly insensitive to describe your size 7s as clowns feet, when there are people on this thread with much larger feet? I'd love to have size 7. 😠

Size 9 here. Genuinely can't imagine being bothered by a comment like this. It's just someone saying how they feel about their feet.

Re trans person leaving toilet up. Are they women happy with the arrangement for toilets?

I'd be inclined to say "which man has been in the ladies toilet and left the seat up!"

RelaxedOddish · 29/07/2025 15:01

I feel your pain. I also wear a size 9. Always depressing going into shoe shops and there are never any nice shoes /boots in my size. Always size 5/6s. Wish they would consider there are more women that have bigger feet these days so they should buy more stock of the bigger sizes! Extra sad in sales when there is usually nothing worth buying in a 9.

I just buy trainers than are universal, vans, converse

holamargareta · 29/07/2025 15:14

FitFlop do most styles up to size 9

Ginmonkeyagain · 29/07/2025 15:39

Anonymous are a Danish brand and go up to a UK size 10. Really nice shoes as well.

findmeaunicorn · 29/07/2025 23:35

To everyone that has criticised my post! I was simply providing my experience…… and for more context I was bullied due to my weight and size of my feet pre teenage years, but turns out I was an early developer and thanks to some weight loss and maturity where I’m not the clown/freak that is bigger than everyone in every way, I’m more at peace with my body……. But I do tend to find my feet are bigger than most people I know and I do find buying elegant shoes a problem. I was trying to be kind and helpful……. Thank you for again re-emphasising the freak and fool I have felt since being a child! Luckily I’m strong now and I take if on the triple chin! Especially on Mumsnet!!!!

I found the link I mentioned earlier on in the thread.

It’s a directory of sources for women who leave a larger footprint.

Where to buy large size women's shoes - Pretty Big Shoes

sorry but this post made me think of all the times I’ve asked for an 8 or 9 in the shoe shop and the assistant comes out and asks if I’d like to try a 7 🤣😡

That used to happen to me too!

Now I just wear men's trainers, or I've got a pair of men's chelsea boots that I wear for work. I actually don't want pink, purple, pale blue, silver or sparkly trainers, which seems to be what manufacturers think is what all women want.
I did buy a pair of size 9 ballet flats in one of the cheap shoe shops just recently, which is amazing IMO as they only ever used to go up to a size 7.

Gettingbysomehow · 05/08/2025 13:39

There are plenty of trans shops in and around Brighton as I recall when I lived there and I think there was one in Bognor Regis too. All sell larger size shoes.

You can get size 9 here

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/08/2025 13:44

I’m a 43/9. Currently wearing red and pink Adidas Gazelles. Trainers are just about the only type of shoe I don’t have trooble getting to fit.

I have big feet (European size 42/43, UK size 8/9).

I simply shop online. I find almost all sports companies have a bigger range online. I wear ASICS and I think online they go up to a UK women’s 12/13. You do have to go to the ASICS store which is not cheap.

JHound · 05/08/2025 14:05

In fact I actually find trainers really easily. Easier than other styles.

JHound · 05/08/2025 14:07

MarriedinMaui · 28/07/2025 18:52

Try https://ottoandivy.com/

They are wonderful! Have honestly changed my life. They look expensive at first glance but they are actually way cheaper than any equivalent well made leather shoes. And all fit true to size and are really comfy.

They aren’t good for trainers but they are one of my go tos for everything else!

Thatsthesizeofawatermelon · 05/08/2025 14:09

Im a UK shoe size 10 and haven’t found the above to be the case.

Thanks all. Quite a few womens size 9 in trainers are not really size 9 imo...they come up small. Hence my current trainers are a boring grey blue as the fancy running shop i went to only had them that would fit me. Asics defo too small.
I will look at some of the suggestions above....fingers crossed

Asics come up small but because they go so large on their online store you can easily get your size.

I find the problem is that high street shoe shops simply do not have suppliers who make women's shoes in these sizes....they can't order stock which doesn't exist .
And yes, like so many of you I am pissed off with shop assistants trying to persuade me to squash my size 9 plates of meat into size 8 shoes.

silversmith · 05/08/2025 14:11

Hello all you tiny footed size 9s! 😉
I've had size 10 feet since teenaged years and am now in my 50s. Back in the 80s & 90s, Saxone (of blessed memory) had a Tall & Small department where giants like me and tiny women with tiny feet congregated. Now, there is literally nowhere that I can buy women's shoes in a physical shop within 100miles (Long Tall Sally closed all its shops a while ago). Last time I tried, I got actually laughed at by the shop assistant just for asking what size they went up to.

(And for our size 7 footed friend - I was a skinny teenager with big feet, I'm now a little bit overweight but still the same shoe size, and my biggest fear about pregnancy was that my feet would go up a size)

Anyway - I get all my shoes from Magnus online, and go tedious unisex on walking, hiking gear, and look for the brands that cater for men in touch with their colourful side (Vans, Teva, Merry People).

I regularly get pop up ads for shops catering for the discerning crossdresser, and people saying "Wow - your feet are enormous!" as if I hadn't noticed.

Anyway - Magnus. Or Crispin's if you're loaded with cash.

I’ve seen these shoes online and they look as if they’re made differently to women’s shoes. They’re not something I’d wear.

But a lot of brands do make bigger sizes, because places like Magnus can get them. It's the shop's buying policy. Presumably because most people have average size 6-7s so that's where they'll get the profit.

I keep hoping that this, and the fact that girls are growing taller (so surely their feet must be getting bigger too) will rescue me at some stage!
