Ladies with big feet

SparklyDeer · 28/07/2025 18:16

Yet again, I am browsing for trainers and I am having to look at mens trainers. Size 9 so not huge by todays standards but not that many companies make shoes for women with big feet.
The trans person in my office (who always leaves the toilet seat up in the ladies loos btw - very feminine!) has huge feet but manages to find nice ladies shoes that fit them.
Is there magical trans shoe shops? Are women allowed to shop there too?
My hope is that since so many men want to be women us women with big feet might soon have loads of choice for our big clown feet.
Not really AIBU just not sure where else to post.
It just pisses me off that women with big feet aren't deemed dainty enough to deserve nice shoes in nice colours. I want bright pink trainers in size 9 that are designed for womens bodies. Not mens trainers....

Vionics.. but make sure they are eu43..
Apparently a few makers did an 'adjustment'.. and some UK size 9s are not eu43s..!!!

Laura95167 · 28/07/2025 20:12

Why dont you ask the trans person if they can recommend somewhere?

Just say I love your shoes... any recommendations for pink trainers

Swimswans · 28/07/2025 20:13

Skechers run big. You buy them a size smaller than your regular size.
They come in bright pink! Or purple, or gold

Ooh, hello ladies: I've found my community!
Yes, my long feet go with being over 6', so I'd really rather not add several inches of heel.
Your posts all sound just so familiar..... I am in my 60s now and have had size 9/43 feet since I was 14! Yes, things are better now (a ray of hope for @DIRECTDORIS : by the time you're 60 maybe your size will be more normalized[
Actually, @SparklyDeer, I have sold some of my footwear to ex-blokes on Vinted, as I have passed the age of wanting glamour over comfort, but at one stage it was so rare to find shoes or sandals in my size that I'd buy anything that was.... but then never wear them because they were just not comfortable.
Pavers have been known to do size 9 and they sell online if there isn't one near you.

ibblebibbledibble · 28/07/2025 20:25

Same problem here. Size varies from 8-9, but have wide fit so most 8s I find are far too narrow.
I always have to have men’s trainers for running, so never get the nice colours 😭😭
will definitely be looking up some of the links shared here!

PauliesWalnuts · 28/07/2025 20:32

I’m a niner and only 5ft6! I blame my late mum who was 5ft10.

For running shoes my running shop advised that Brooks and Saucony do larger women’s styles (Up and Running in Oldham).

For fashion trainers some of the men’s Adidas Gazelle and Speziale are decent colours.

For shoes Gabor fit on the large side - I’m actually a 9 on the right and an 8.5 on the left, but fit some Gabor shoes that are an 8.

Cinderella shoes
Magnus of Northampton
Crispins
After 8.
Otto and Ivy

Crispins have a store in London and Magnus have one in Northampton. The Magnus one that was a few doors away from Crispins recently closed.

and as strange as it may sound - online buying from Europe. They have way more choice. Germany in particular. In fact it’s even worth getting a cheap flight to shoe shops in Europe as there are certainly more of them in quite a few countries than there are in the UK.

I have a directory of companies all over the world that do online international orders and I’ll post it when I can find it. Also companies with actual shops.

oh and there’s Zappos and 6pm in the states and I once went to Nordstrom in Seattle and left the store with 6 pairs of shoes that were the equivalent of a UK size 10 - they were standard stock.

findmeaunicorn · 28/07/2025 20:41

I’m a 7 and go for either rounded or pointed flats and very slim ballet type trainers. I appreciate a 7 is likely classed as ‘normal’ these days but I’ve always felt like I have clown feet 🤣 my feet have been massive since about being age 7. So sometimes I think it’s the style you go for. Also, no offence meant, but are you overweight? I used to be a lot bigger and needed an 8/9 but since losing 4st (and not on monjaro or anything like that) find I can always get into a 7, or in generous sized shoes a 6.5. Uggs tho are a game changer, cannot get my feet in them for love nor money 🤣 also places like new look do wide fitting shoes which I find takes me down a size instantly x

TunnocksOrDeath · 28/07/2025 20:48

Brooks theoretically go up to a size 11 trainer, with 3 width fittings, and their models usually come in several colour choices. Their running shoes are very good.

Do you think it's slightly insensitive to describe your size 7s as clowns feet, when there are people on this thread with much larger feet? I'd love to have size 7. 😠

JimbosJetSet · 28/07/2025 21:59

Kickers and Vans do lots of unisex shoes in pinks and pastels, and go up to an 11 or 12.

DIRECTDORIS · 28/07/2025 19:28

im a 12 or 13(technically a 12 1/2 but depends on the brand) got to a size 12 by age 11(yes really)
im also 6ft with 36 inch legs, got to that size by age 11 as well

ive lived in mens trainers ever since (im 44) or in school i was allowed caterpillar boots
my feet have never been in a high heel, sandal or flat patent type shoes
buying anything in shops are so hard work
ive turned to tiktok shop or temu the last few years as European sizes fit perfect

would love to be a 8 or a 9

silver lining is i make a lot selling feet pictures as my feet are narrow but very long

I'm intrigued!!

ColinOfficeTrolley · 28/07/2025 22:03

My sister is a size 9 and does buy off trans websites.

ClipClopt · 28/07/2025 22:10

At the expensive designer end of the spectrum, Sophia Webster does larger sizes. I believe up to a 46, not sure what that is in UK sizes.

This one comes in a nine.

I wonder about the Netherlands. There are very tall people there so they might have better choice of shoes.

Algonqueen · 28/07/2025 22:26

I’m a 7.5-8 but tend to buy size 9 women’s trainers. Usually go for D fit in Brook’s but was fed up with black being only available colour. I switched to Saucony which are fine and a nice colour but they look massive and struggled to drive in them in a hire car last week. Men’s trainers are bigger all over so never work for me.

blackbaccara · 28/07/2025 22:29

Only place I haven't seen mentioned yet is FitFlop which I use for, err.....flip flops, ballet flats, and trainers. Oh and boots!

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 28/07/2025 22:33

I feel your pain OP, I normally end up with men’s trainers. I did get a nice green and pink pair recently, try shopping direct with Nike

Following with interest, off to investigate Otto and ivy as I’ve never even heard of them. I find large shoes perversely easier than trainers. I think maybe because trainers are so unisex they just don’t bother making larger womens ones as they assume we’ll just buy men’s. BUT I DON’T WANT HORRIBLE, BORING MENS TRAINERS.

PauliesWalnuts · 28/07/2025 22:38

Try getting mountaineering boots! I have to have them to use crampons but the men’s versions are far too volumous and my feet rattle around in them. I don’t want to wear three pairs of socks, I just want a pair of B2s that fit 😩

hellooomynameisbillyballoonhead · 28/07/2025 22:46

I have mens sized feet - drives me mad. My feet are a mens size 10-10.5 and wide. ladies shoes do not fit me, even when I've bought ones in the correct size/width etc. They're either miles too wide, particularly near the ankle, or are just play acting at a large size. I only buy shoes based off EU size now too as it's slightly more reliable!

I am right here with you! I wear brooks or mizuno trainers as my day to day shoe - not remotely stylish I don't think. Special occasions I wear buffalo trainers or new rock style boots so not everyone's taste!

SparklyDeer · 28/07/2025 23:02

So many great recommendations that I have never heard of - thank you!!

Spot on, and there’s also the comment about stressing her weight loss didn’t come via Mounjaro or the likes.

The poster maybe has clown feet because she is one.

Thatsthesizeofawatermelon · 29/07/2025 03:27

@ClipClopt yes, the Netherlands also.

sorry but this post made me think of all the times I’ve asked for an 8 or 9 in the shoe shop and the assistant comes out and asks if I’d like to try a 7 🤣😡

labradorservant · 29/07/2025 14:37

Thank you all! I have large feet! I’ll take a look at these. My husband has more shoes than I do!
As for having issues with size 7. Jog on. My dd is size 7, wish I could buy all the shoes she can. Oh that’s on trend I’ll get that one. I wish I could too. I’ve just lost weight. On MJ! Feet still large!
