To wonder how they're getting on (and I sincerely hope that all is good!)

Does anyone remember a thread in 2016 onwards, written by 'Somer' and titled 'Dating again after being widowed. Gulp! ? I came across it in Classics and loved her story. She married 'Lovely' (who really did sound like his name) and they had a child together, just before lockdown. She didn't post any more after 2020, as is her perfect right. Her life isn't for us all to watch and dissect, but I just wondered if anyone knew, for isstance by seeing her on other threads, how her lovely family is getting on?

Not meaning to be unsympathetic but this seems to be the latest in a lot of threads wondering how certain posters from the past are doing and how their stories panned out.

I'm sure a lot of us remember certain poignant or particularly upsetting or moving threads. But I thought the point of MN was to provide support, help, advice, information, amusement in real time?

Whatever happened to threads are by definition dismissive of all those other posters who reached out but aren't considered worthy enough to be remembered.

A lot of threads gave touched my heart.
I think it's very difficult not to be affected by a lot of the threads on MN , especially in the Relationships forum.
But unless OP's want to provide updates or want to post again about their situations I just find threads asking about what happened to such and such a poster as not really appropriate.
