The house next door to me has recently sold. We have a shared driveway between us with space for two cars abreast and no dividing fence, etc.
The house was badly run down. The person who’s bought it intends to do it up and rent it out. We anticipated some mess but I’m struggling at the moment.
He’s replacing the windows himself and his method of removing the old windows seems to be to hit them with a hammer until they fall to the floor below. Several large shards of glass and rotten wood have been stacked up next to the house for several weeks (it’s slow progress). However, recently he’s been working on the side of the house and now both sides of the driveway are covered in small splinters of glass. I discovered this when I foolishly popped to the bins in my bare feet and got a piece of glass in my foot on Wednesday. I’ve swept the driveway multiple times since. Today my daughter was playing on our half of the driveway whilst we were all getting out of the car, tripped and got glass in her knee and my bloody cat has been in limping as he’s trodden in some too.
Can I reasonably ask my neighbour to take more care and try and clean up after himself? We have our windows replaced recently and there was no need for smashed glass everywhere.
