Is this a weird amount of time to not see a friend

Since Christmas?

We live ten minutes away, but both have had a lot going on, me with my Dd and a nasty separation for her. We’ve kept in touch intermittently via Whatsapp.
i’m fine with it, we’re meeting up this weekend, she seems fine too, although did comment that she hadn’t seen me for so so long.

Would this be odd to you in a friendship or completely fine?

Well, it’s a long time, but that can also be fine.

I often go months without seeing my friends due to various reasons. But still love it when we finally make it happen.

It would be unheard of with my friends but if it works for both of you then it's fine.

Totally depends on the type of relationship you have - I am going away with friends at the end of August that I haven't seen since Christmas because we live miles away from each other (five hours' drive), so it's totally normal for us. If it was my parents I hadn't seen since then I would be in trouble because they are older and want to see me more frequently (about once every six weeks, which is fine by me, and they only live a couple of hours away). Maybe she just really misses you, or did it sound pointed?
