Due on in 4 days, also due to go on holiday in 4 days. I got norethisterone ready to take it 3 days before expected period. Today I'm spotting. I'm usually like clockwork and this never happens, I already took the first tablet today as soon as I saw the spotting. But aibu to worry it won't work!?

You can tell some of the women here have never suffered from period pain!

OP, have you been investigated for endometriosis, adenomyosis or fibroids? All of those can cause the excruciating pain you describe. No help for your immediate problem, but you do need to be persistent to get yourself heard and investigated, GPs are all too eager to fob people off with palliatives for the symptoms rather than trying to find and resolve the cause.

Have you ever used a moon cup? I've used one for the last 20 years and honestly are amazing. You'll be able to wear a bikini with one. You can insert it before your period starts too, so no leaks xx

I was going to suggest this, and you can get a starter one on Amazon with next day delivery. My periods are horrific and coming on before or during a holiday would totally ruin it for me…10-14 days of heavy loss and pain bad enough to make me spew! I believe also you can get transexamic acid from a pharmacy as well now.. might be worth (if there are no contraindications of course) getting a pack as those should also help a little. So those and a moon cup may well save the day if you have left it a bit late op. X

You don't sound like you'll be much fun on holiday :)

And you don't sound helpful.
