Camp beds

Joonio · 24/07/2025 20:44

My grandsons are coming to stay for 4 nights with parents.Previously they slept on blow up beds in the study. They are 8 and 10 .My other son thinks they are too big now to sleep like this and thinks I should get a trundle bed
My study is small and I don't want beds in it so I bought 2 fold up fishing beds that I thought looked fine. He says they are sun loungers and I should send them back. I now feel upset. What do you think about the kids sleeping on them?.

I know the beds you mean OP. Theyre comfy! Unless your g'kids are giants they'll be absolutely fine on those for a few nights.

Both blow-up beds and the camp beds you described are absolutely fine

Your son is being ridiculous and needs to but out

ForeveraBluebird · 24/07/2025 20:53

We go camping for a week and sleep on different combinations of airbeds and sleeping mats.
Those fishing beds look like a very good option for afew nights for your grandsons .

Mine love sleeping on the floor lol

Joonio · 24/07/2025 20:55

Thanks. When they go with the scouts they sleep on mats so I think son is being bossy. I don't want to ruin my little study.

The phrase that might help is ‘you’re welcome to bring something else for them’.

Catingle · 24/07/2025 20:58

Any of those options are fine! You don’t need a trundle bed.

Mattress toppers are very useful as well and can be vacuum packed when not needed

shellyleppard · 24/07/2025 21:07

@Joonio if your grandchildren are only staying occasionally then camp beds will be perfect!!!

Joonio · 24/07/2025 21:16

Probably only 8 or 9 days a year.
