In praise of funded nursery hours

From September, our nursery costs will be £450 a month (with 30 “free” hours), down from £800 (with 15 “free” hours), and £1250 (when she first started)!

The Tories might have messed a lot up, but I’m hugely grateful this bill got through before they were voted out.

Agree OP, it's massively helpful and we are even considering having another baby.

Same! No way we could have afforded £2500 a month and I’m too old to wait until DD1 is at school.

All those figures are with tax-free childcare too. Otherwise it was about £1420 a month, for 34hrs, so not even full time…
