My 5 month old son has torticolis and plagiocephaly as a result of this.
I have read about the ‘Sleepcurve’ mattress which is apparently clinically tested by Alder Hey. I believe it works by taking pressure off the whole head which then allows the head to grow normally.
Does anyone have experience of it - does it correct plagiocephaly and are there any downsides/ dangers to it?
Using it would be in addition to physio and osteopathy.
Not keen on helmet unless it is the only option.
I see on the Alder Hey and GOS websites that they say to put a rolled up blanket under one side of the mattress but this seems to be against safe sleep guidelines and the health visitor told me not to do this.
I just find it odd that none of the four professionals I have spoken to who supposedly specialize in this condition have even heard of the mattress. So a bit worried it isn’t legit.
