Very random one but, the Coldplay CEO meme that's going round.

My partner works in a school and is mates with another teacher who I've heard a lot about but not had the chance to meet yet. They have banter and wind each other up.

For some reason this man thought it'd be funny to recreate the meme photoshopping my partner and his ex into it? And he put as the joke 'shhh don't tell pippin'.

It's been posted in a little group chat, my partner quickly closed and it said i can't show you that, but I'd already seen it. I saw another man post 'that's not on doing that mate'.

He thinks I haven't seen it but I have. The man is 46 years old! I keep changing between letting it go snd seeing the funny side or saying something? Partner has zero to do with the ex, I've never met her, been with him 1.5 years.
I'm not blaming my partner but I don't want this to be something behind my back like some little joke. What would you do?

No it's not funny in the slightest. Maybe if he had photoshopped your partner with the woman in the original debacle at the concert it would have been funny but to do it with his ex is in bad taste imo.

Imperfectpolly · 21/07/2025 16:12

Who else is in the group chat?

Standardpain · 21/07/2025 16:20

It's not funny at all.

Is your partner's ex a friend of this man?
I can't think she will be very happy about this either.

Wanker

TomatoSandwiches · 21/07/2025 16:26

How did he have a picture of the ex?

CoffeeWithHer · 21/07/2025 16:48

What a knob - and glad someone called him out on it to. Maybe he is the ‘joker*’ of the pack

*insufferable

I’d be wondering what the context behind this was? Why his ex? Is the insinuation that he’s having an affair with his ex?

And this level of reading far too deeply into something that was done as a prank (I won't say harmless because it obviously isn't) is exactly why anyone over the age of 12 should surely know not to do shit like this, it's pathetic behaviour and some people will fall for it so hard that it could jeopardise their relationship. What if he'd done it to a woman whose bloke saw it and he turned out to be the violent jealous type? I mean honestly WTF was he thinking?!

Thanks. I decided to not mention it and try to see the funny side, it was odd though.
