To not want to go to blackpool air show

My OH would like us to take our two boys to the free airshow at blackpool this year. The thought of how incredibly busy it will be is making me stressed just thinking about it. I think our boys would love it but really don't fancy. Aibu and a spoilsport? Anybody been and can reassure me?

Why can’t he just take them then?

Though if my kids were going to an event I thought they’d love I’d be there too to see them enjoy it, busy and stressful or not.

We’ve been a few times and it’s not so bad. Obviously if it’s a lovely hot day then there will be more people there! There are very few places to sit so you might want to take a couple of chairs/a pram depending on the age of the kids. We were on the comedy carpet a couple of years ago and it was fine, got the train in as well so we didn’t have to mess about parking.

Your Husband should just take them, if possible, if it is going to be too stressful for you.

Tbh it would be a shame if OPDH just takes the kids on days out without her because she doesn’t like the idea of it being busy. Blackpool is big enough they wouldn’t have to be crammed in close to anyone, you can see the aircraft from many vantage points .

I went last year with DH, DD17 and DS13 - we enjoyed it.

Our DD struggles with anxiety in crowded situations- we were on the esplanade in good time with camping chairs, food/drink supplies and a trusty pack of cards.

Let him take them himself, no big deal.
