To think he's not prioritising his daughter?

My ex who I am still friendly with has been with his girlfriend for around 5 years now. She's fiery and doesn't allow him to be friends with me. We are, she just doesn't know.

He has a ten year old daughter from a previous relationship who he has most of the week and weekend.

His girlfriend clearly doesn't like his daughter and has told him that she doesn't want to spend time with his daughter at all. She says she's naughty. His daughter is a normal ten year old. Has her moments but is otherwise lovely. Him and his girlfriend go away alot together with her adult kids, never taking his daughter because his girlfriend refuses to spend time with her. If I was him, I would've kicked the girlfriend to the curb a long time ago. She speaks awfully to him at times, her family do too I've heard and she's told my friend that she's seeing another man while they're still a couple to make him jealous.

Aibu to think he's insane to still be with her and that he's a bit of a shit dad?

Yeah he sounds weak and deceptive. Why are you still friends with him?

The friendship is at breaking point. I've lost all respect for him. He only speaks to me or sees me when she's not around to be honest. They don't live together but I don't like a friendship that's one sided.

Save yourself the stress and stay out of it. Save yourself even more stress by not being friends with an ex you don’t like.

Well, it's not really your business any more but yes he sounds like a shit dad. I wouldn't be friendly with him and I'd tell him what I think about his girlfriend too!

None of your business what goes on in their relationship. Surely it's up to the girls mother if she feels the dad should be more involved. Though he doesn't sound great so maybe she is happy for him not to be on the scene.
