To ask if anyone has used a company to soundproof their house?

If so, any recommendations?
Moved house a few months ago and a combination of paper thin walls + noisy neighbours is driving me insane.

Moving is not an option, so looking into soundproofing. I think the best way is to get a proper company in to essentially build an additional wall? It would mean sacrificing space but would be worth it...if it works! Does anyone have any experience of this?

I got quotes when I lived in a terrace from a couple of specialist soundproofing companies.

The quotes came in at a couple of thousand pounds per wall with no guarantees it would stop the sound carrying.

Another option is to build wardrobes and put lots of clothes or bespoke shelving and books etc in your lounge.

I was told that carpets , curtains , cushions and stuff in the room all help reduce the sound.

Have you tried headphones as the cheap option?

I eventually moved as I realised that I was better off in a smaller detached property than a larger attached property and moving was only about as expensive as trying to fix the problem through professional sound proofing.
