Anyone else’s toddler been off balance during/post viral illness?

DD 19m has had a lot going on in terms of viral illness. She has a fever a few days ago, threw up twice and then had a loose stool. She also had white patches around her lips so we took her to the GP yesterday where the doctor said she has a viral illness and oral thrush.

I’ve noticed today that she seems a bit off balance. She walks and then falls over or walks and seems a bit wobbly.

The logical suggestion would be to go back to the GP but the GP wasn’t concerned at all yesterday in terms of DD still eating (not as much as usual but still eating) and still playing/talking etc. The GP didnt check DD’s ears

I do have health anxiety when it comes to DD so do worry a lot. Not sure if it’s common in toddlers or if I should be concerned?

If she were still drinking, eating and had no temperature, and seemed ok in herself otherwise, I’d probably see how she was tomorrow.

but - I have always been told by doctor friends GPs don’t mind seeing babies. So if you don’t feel happy call 111.

I’d not worry if her other symptoms are still the same too however if they or the losing balance also worsens I’d be on the phone to out of hours, can always go back tomorrow. Her ears can be the issue, my little one is prone to losing balance when he’s tired, soon as he starts tripping I try and settle for a nap

Can be an ear infection causing the balance issue, I'd go back to the doctor if it keeps up.

Yes when my son was about 5, he had a horrible virus and had to stay in bed for 3 days. Every time he tried to stand up in would make him sick with dizziness. Dr did a house call and wasn't concerned, I was worried about it being an ear infection
