Constantly moaning colleagues

I work for a large corporate company, back office kind of work , we do 2 days in the office , the rest are home , the salary is fairly decent, decent amount of holidays , sick pay , health benefits, 3k a year tuition assistance if you want to do gain qualifications, we don't get micromanaged (well I don't) admittedly at times you are chasing your tail to find out answers for things etc and if mistakes are made you are not berated, I'm not saying it's the best place in the world to work and there has been cuts on travel and procurement (a lot of people take the p demanding new laptops every 5 mins ) but let's face it economy isn't great.

It really is one of those jobs where you log off at 5 on a Friday and don't give it a seconds thought till Monday which I think is such a blessing in this day and age.

Anywho a lot of my colleagues literally spend the whole entire day moaning, slating the company to bits and just putting everything down and it's really starting to get me depressed it really could be worse .

What's the saying misery breeds misery

Anyone else get fed up of this kinda thing or am I just too glass half full

Come up with a whinge tin, pound goes in the tin when there's moaning and it pays for treats at the end of the week 😁

I could probably retire by the end of the day

It only takes one or two dominant personalities to set the culture, then other people either get influenced and join in, or at best don't actually disagree, so being unhappy with stuff becomes the done thing. You could always try to swing it by saying you disagree when they're moaning and see if anyone starts agreeing with you.

I said to mine, "what are you going to do about it? Talk to our manager, talk to HR, set up some training, write a business case for new hardware? If you're not going to do anything constructive, then please be quiet."

It didn't entirely stop them, but it did improve.
