AIBU or would you go back to the hairdresser?

Had my hair highlighted last week. Tried to convince myself it looked ok, but have decided it looks quite bad and have called the salon and explained I'm not quite happy with it. They were brilliant and I'm booked in to have it rectified...but now doubting myself and wonder if they'll think I'm being anal and difficult! AIBU??

It’s badly blended
its good they want to put it right tho

OurBeautifulBaby · 16/07/2025 19:42

You haven’t posted a good pic to judge it properly tbh.

It doesn’t look good, the front colour looks choppy and like you had it done a while ago and the roots are showing!
Glad they will sort it for you.

I've only had highlights twice. The 2nd time- they burnt my hair and it came out with the foils. To me, that looks like a months re-growth! How long does it normally take to look like that?

I'm glad they are seeing you again and hopefully they can fix it- well, lighten the dark regrowth.

Iloveeverycat · 16/07/2025 19:43

Doesn't look like highlights at all looks block of colour. Maybe the foils bled. Have you sent them a picture. Also it's no way near the root.

verycloakanddaggers · 16/07/2025 19:44

You're not happy, they're happy to fix it. That's good.

Try to write down specifically what you want to be improved so you can explain when you go back.

They needed to either do a balayage to blend it or put the colour much closer to your scalp.

It's totally reasonable to ask they rectify it. It's good they seemed ok with doing so. Though maybe that's because it's a regular occurrence?

Hopefully not a regular occurrence...I've been a few times before and been really pleased!

I hope they improve it for you. I guess the stylist was having an off day.
