I get that this person’s post seems to be very insensitive and tone deaf (as several posters have pointed out) but my guess is that they posted quickly upon reading the OP and didn’t look to see what others were dealing with. I actually opened up this thread thinking it would be light hearted. It very much isn’t so I will keep my extremely minor concerns to myself.

I think if this was the case they would have apologised and /or asked for their post to be deleted .

I can't leave the house as every time I try, I feel like I'm going to wet myself.

If anyone has been through this, please send ideas to break the cycle!

Is it anxiety or overactive bladder?

bluevelvetbox · 16/07/2025 16:37

Big hugs to everyone on this thread. Each post, no matter how big or small, is heartbreaking.

Relaxd · 16/07/2025 16:37

In intensive care and not really sure how things went from a seemingly simple accident to this so fast. I can see everyone is trying very hard to help stabilise me but I feel anxious as it’s not working very well so far. There are others in here who look like they are on deaths door so I feel like I shouldn’t be in here as whilst I’m not stable yet, I’m mostly just in pain rather than ill or dying.

HeadingOutForJog · 16/07/2025 16:38

Caring for my extremely difficult elderly mother.
My adult SEN son will never be independent.
My husband’s mental & physical health is deteriorating.

My daughter has cancelled me.
This sounds simple but is not.
She sees everyone else-arranges socials and things with my other kids, even my mum, but excludes me.
I alternate between grief and anger towards her for her bullying behaviour.
I exist and my feelings matter.

no one cares.

Edited

My mum went through the same with my sister

WhenIwasyoungersomuchyounger · 16/07/2025 16:40

@Katemax82 I think it's anxiety, as I don't actually need a wee, just have an overwhelming feeling that I'm going to wet myself.

I know that I'm being ridiculous, but I just can't get a grip on myself.

Reading everyone else's posts does put it into perspective though!

Autistic daughter who has demand avoidance and ocd. Shouts, swears and physical meltdowns where she throws whatever missle she can get her hands on. At me.

it's like living with an abusive partner but no escape because she's a child! Constant battle to get any support at all.

Yes I sympathise , I have 2 autistic daughters like that, excluded from school due to violence, very little practical help available

HumanRightsAreHumanRights · 16/07/2025 16:45

Have been going blind for a number of years.

Now discovered I'm also going deaf.

Seems a bit unfair.

My 13 year old nephew unexpectedly died in April, just after his birthday and before our trip to Disney. My children are completely broken especially my 14 year old. They were best friend, raised together like siblings. I genuinely loved that boy like my own. My sister is a single mum and he was her entire world. My entire family is devastated and I can't help anyone. My 6ft 3 son woke me up in a state the other night and I sat on the stairs and held him while he sobbed in my arms. I'm so worried about them all, I wish I could do something.

I'm so sorry.
This has made me cry.
I'm truly so, so sorry for you, for your children, for your poor broken boy, and for your sister whose sorrow I can't even begin to imagine.

Yet you still posted 😡

They are allowed too.
Perhaps its good to hear all different sides of it.

Whatafustercluck · 16/07/2025 16:47

I'm not even going to contribute. Anything I would say pales into insignificance besides many of the horrendous things others on here are facing.

💐 for everyone who is dealing with awful life and death events right now.

Im sorry to hear it. My daughter has an overactive bladder exacerbated by her anxiety so I sympathise

How much my ASD affects my life to the point I’m useless to society

Teenage son (middle child) expelled from school 15m ago, undiagnosed with anything but clearly unwell, kicks off frequently. Under CAMHS but on waiting list for treatment, seeking private help in meantime. We’ve had to hide knives at home as he flies in to a rage and it’s the first thing he goes for. Toddlers in house also. Postnatal depression. I want to walk away from it all and not come back.

That sounds incredibly tough. Have you spoken to a gp about your pnd?

Constant financial uncertainty because partner hasn't worked consistently for over two years. Short term contracts, no job security. As a result I'm in a job I would have left by now if he had a proper job because I'm too financially scared to move. Its so wearing on the nerves.

I don’t agree. People have problems, some big some small. I’ve seen some beautiful support from one stranger to another.

My poxy gas meter has packed up. I'm currently waiting for an engineer to come out to fix or replace it. I rely on gas for hot water and cooking so it's an absolute pain having no gas. It says online that someone should be out within 3 hours of contacting them if you have no gas,I've been waiting an hour and a half so far. I'm not holding my breath!

Reading this shows no one really knows what is going on in peoples lives - everyone has struggles
Sending hugs to all
Mine are not too bad but keeping me awake
Supporting husband to change careers, leaving me the main earner.
He has only been able to pay himself the past few months
Work pressuring to do more office days, 2 hour commute each way and had to fight to get one day a week- Cant do driving anymore
Finally moved into what was suppose to be our dream house, but had to get a family loan, business loan and sell everything we had to get it, as couldn't get a mortgage due to husband not working during covid
Wasn't too bad before we moved but since moved in feels like money is just draining out of my account
Finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after years of different tests and trips to hospital, really struggling with it
Also then told am peri menopause - Every day is a struggle
Wishing for a holiday but wont happen
Suppose to go to mother in laws holiday home but bro in law bullied his way ad took our dates - Cant change my annual leave now either
My poor cat has diagnosed with an illness that cant be cured, only medication and will only live for 2 years max
Someone who i though was my one of my best friends for over 15 years has ignored me and no contact whatsoever since last summer- dunno what i did wrong :(

My house has subsidence. Insurance moved us into temporary accommodation for 12 weeks in March 2024. The house is still not fixed. We are still in temporary accommodation!

Garage told us, not point in repairing the car not eccomically viable and if it was theirs, they would get rid of it.

4 years left on the loan

What brand?
