I've been working for a large company within the same kitchen as a team leader for 2 years. Recently we was told that a new team leader was having a transfer to us from another area but before getting to us was constantly told he's amazing etc by manager and asst manager from my pub even though they never met him all because it's a busier pub. Anyway he's gotten to ours now and within 2 months other 2 kitchen assts have been in trouble for not coming in on time and bad attitudes saying they don't want to work with him as they doing all the work. He's constantly outside for cigs, is busy but doing stuff that not important when we got customers in like writing lists for ppl to do stuff on next shift. I told management that I believe he's borderline bullying other staff under him and since with what I've seen now know he's a bully. He keeps getting too much stock out of freezers to defrost but getting way too much out so when it comes to meant to throw it away it's being given longer so maybe 3 days longer than should. Getting food orders in that are way to big unless he's there to put it away. He's also writing lists of jobs for myself or kitchen manager to do on next shift which we don't need as look in official book where things are signed off so I can see wats done and wat needs doing but he's signing that he's done jobs he hasn't. I've tried talking to him but he knows better( I've worked in kitchens nearly 40yrs). I've spoken to management and they pulled a meeting and repeated everything I've said but mainly aimed at kitchen assts and not this guy. We all have our faults but this guy is a bully, a know it all and I don't think I will back off if he starts on me as he has also offered one of the guys out and told them to shut up a few times. Just a quick example yesterday he pulled a tub with a few pigs in blankets out that was cooked on 3 days ago telling me he's putting them in freezer for me to use Sunday, I told him I won't be using them as see it as a risk, his reply I've been doing this 6 yrs so I know wat I'm doing, I took them off side and dropped them in bin, then he began ranting about no wonder there's so much wastage here and I said not as much as gonna be cos I'm gonna bin anything that I should legally from now on if he gets too much out. I know I will get trouble for this but I've told everyone above me and don't think anything will change.
Also him and the asst mngr have hit it off so spends a lot of time with him instead of workjng and constantly telling him everyone else is wrong which I think is reason my kitchen mngr not doing a lot.
I think I just needed this rant as my girlfriend sick of hearing it lol.
Also I have asked 2 pubs about a transfer so far and have started looking on jobsites. Which is a shame as I enjoyed the job until all this
It just seems now it's just a constant bitchfest
