To complain about referral and who to?

I’ve been referred to a specialist at my local hospital which I’m told is a 4 month wait.
The hospital in the next town could see me within a week. My gp is saying that ERS booking system isn’t showing any availability at the other hospital until November which is incorrect.
What can I do? Gp is trying to help they said they have called the hospital to see if they can email the referral instead but they aren’t getting a response. Please help!

How do you know the hospital in the next town has capacity?

This.

Just because there is space there doesn’t necessarily mean they will allow you to go there, it’s a funding thing.

Yes I checked with them this morning they are taking out of area referrals. They even told me step by step what option my gp needs to choose but gp saying it’s only giving November dates so something is amiss. They said only gp can refer

My gp said I can go there it’s just not showing an available appointment on the booking system when there is availability

I called them this morning to check. It’s a new building that’s opened they see people 7 days a week which is why they have availability

Can the GP book a November date and then you contact the hospital to move forward once they've received it?
